CABS for Reflections From the Fence
The subject for this 110th Carnival of Genealogy is "What tree best represents your family’s history?"
The great poster is thanks to footnoteMaven and thanks to our hostess, Jasia, for all she does for the carnival.
I have been tossing this subject around all month, what kind of tree?? Really?? That is the subject?? RATS! That is a toughie.
TOUGH BECAUSE OUR FAMILY IS NOT JUST ONE KIND OF TREE!!
So, contemplate if you will for just a few minutes:
Below: Some of our family seem to be in a fog - - or, maybe they are just snowed under - -
Some of the family are really picky, really picky, ohhhh, that's not a tree!! Oh, well, you get the idea:
Some have no clue, errr, leaves, just a few hints, err, branches, and no twigs:
Some grow, errr, live, in certain attitude, err, altitude, (between 1,300 and 5,900 feet). They just don't grow elsewhere, just like this Joshua Tree.
Some are helpful, insightful, err, flowery, and beautiful:
Some of them are less than helpful, err, just burn you up:
Some are close knit families, err have grown together:
Some just try to pull your chain or chains (get it?? ya, you do! LOL)
Some leaf, err, leave you with the feeling they are just barely hanging on, but, won't give up that foot hold just yet, holding on for dear life, and all the time, living on the edge:
And, some are just plain ole interesting, giving you a hunt/search that is just soooo much fun and so frustrating, and so, well, colorful!
So, as you can see, our families (Man's and mine) just don't fall into a "one tree" kinda gang. We are as varied as the trees (and that one thistle) you see here, and we wouldn't have it any other way!
*Note to Jasia, I guess all the forests did NOT burn down after all, just that one above, the 6th photo!
