Disney, Hollywood Studio, Osborne Light Show:: Rolling, Rolling, Keep Them Wheels a Rolling - Winter 2015-2016

While visiting the Orlando area and our many MOC friends, we were told we had to see the last ever Osborne Family light show at Hollywood Studios.

Well, I do believe we have a Man in hiding??

Part of the fun is to try to find the Mickey Mouse heads tucked in here and there.

Santa flies!

If you get the timing right, with the correct angle, there is a Mickey Mouse in the center solider's head.

Purple, for you know who.

A bit of Sony Too panoramic fun (two photos stitched together).

A special thanks to friends Rich and Helen for taking us.

Disney, Hollywood Studios, Stunts and Old Movies: Rolling, Rolling, Keep Them Wheels a Rolling - Winter 2015-2016

At Hollywood Studios there are many shows, lots of great fun. Our hosts Rich and Helen shared two of the best.

Lights, Motors, Action!  was great fun and interesting too, as they explained how some of the stunts were done (Hint:  going backwards is sometimes forward)

Well, look who made a short appearance.

I missed the photo, but, the finale' is a major explosion of fire and let me tell you, that fire was HOT.  We were sitting in the nose bleed section and we could feel the heat put off.

Next we saw the Ultimate Celebration of Classic Movies. Riding through scenes from old movies, thanks to Turner Classic Movies.

This was one of my favorite captures

Can you name the movies??

Next for the evening, was the Osborne Holiday Light Show, coming to Relections on December 24th, just in time for Santa and the reindeer, let's light up the way, shall we?

Disney Resort Hopping, Free Gorgeous Fun: Rolling, Rolling, Keep Them Wheels a Rolling - Winter 2015-2016

While we were near Orlando with so many great MOC friends, we were introduced to "resort" hopping.  Free, resort hopping.  Our tour guides this evening were Julie and Jim.  They knew the ropes, and where to go and what to see.

The game plan is you ride around Disney on the free monorail and boats.  You get off at the resorts/hotels, gawk, look, take in the pretties, get back on the free rides and proceed to the next resort/hotel.  Brilliant.  Kudos to whomever thought this one up.

First stop Wilderness Lodge.

Next, was the Contemporary Resort.  "Frozen", in sweet confections and gingerbread.

Next was the Polynesian Village:

The tree was topped with bird of paradise instead of angels or stars.

The decorations up close:

From the monorail station looking down:

The Grand Floridian, Victorian splendor.

And, another gingerbread house.

Tree decorations.

Thanks so much Julie and Jim for a festive free night.  What fun!

Dreaded Christmas Letter, 2015 Version

Copyright 2015, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

Happy Holidays from southern Florida.

Here is the dreaded Christmas letter from the Stevens' clan, the 2015 version, and I believe it is going to be very short.  Ya for you, my readers!

15 was a year of mixed blessings, sorrow and stress.  That's the short story.

Man and I both had a few health issues that we have addressed and at this point, we are doing much better.

We lost our beloved Captain Hook, aka Cappy, in June.

We adopted the sweetest yorkie, Winston in November.  He has turned out to be such a blessing.  He reminds us at moments of our Abigail, Chantilly, Gallagher and Captain Hook. All but CH were from the same dear friend and breeder, and the glimpses of puppies past are delightful, what a wonderful surprise for Man and I.  Sir Winston, WWW, has decided he is a daddie's boy.  All good.

We have been able to continue our travels in Tana, The Heritage RV.  Tana got a bit of a do-over this summer and fall.  I pulled some items from the house that belonged to my grandparents and great-grandparents. We took out her kitchen table and installed a 33 inch kitchen base cabinet with the old kitchen table top as the counter top.  The storage is fab.  This change is really working out well for us.  Man had Tana's suspension and brakes upgraded in early November.  Man is delighted with his upgrades to Tana.  Jolly, the monster tow machine has had new feet (tires) and currently is displaying a 4-wheel drive error message.  Always something to repair and maintain.

We continue to watch in awe as our boys and the grandtwins conquer the world and grow. Nothing like family.

We have prayed and grieved over those who are suffering medical situations.  We lost a few friends, we miss them.

From our rig to you, where ever you may be:

Happy Holidays!

James Island County Park and the Holiday Light Show:: Rolling, Rolling, Keep Them Wheels a Rolling - Winter 2015-2016

Copyright 2015, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

While Man and I stayed at James Island County Park for a few nights just before Thanksgiving, we were delighted to find that their annual Christmas Light Show was open.  As campers in the park we did not have to pay any additional fees to take in the show.  We drove around the show twice one evening.

It's a great show, one of the best of this type we have seen.

Enjoy!!

We were impressed with the lights on the ground at many of the exhibits.  The green lights were placed in definite rows, as crops may be.  The windmill blades moved.

The rocking horse, rocked.

This tree had Spanish Moss lights.

This was a favorite for us.

Another example of creative ground lights.

Ho Ho Ho

Motion in this display as well,  the tree dropped coconuts on the monkey.  It was very cute.

We leave you with a reflection.  Of course.

*There were some great displays hanging in the trees, but, I did not manage to get good photos.  Oh, dear.  A reason to return. Oh, dear!  (Wink wink)
