"DR. ROBERTS DEAD

One of Adrian's Pioneers has Passed
The River.

Dr. Darius Roberts, one of the most representative colored men of the state of Michigan, died at his home, corner of Chestnut and Comstock streets, in this city, Thursday evening, of Bright's disease, after an illness coverinb about four months. Dr. Roberts had been a familiar figure on the streets of Adrian for over thirty years, having been a successful practitioner in veterinary surgery for that length of time. He was for some time previous to that proprietor of a livery stable in Grand Rapids. He was very active during the rebellion in securing recruits for the Union armies.
