CABS for Reflections From the Fence
After Man and I did our little touristy stop at Hole N' The Rock, we headed out to Canyonlands National Park, The Needles District. As is the case so many times, the drive in and the drive out supply many oooohs and aaaahs.
We stopped for another photo op of Wilson's Arch, named after Joe Wilson, local pioneer, who had built a cabin nearby. The signage nearby gave a good description of how the arch was formed, but, let's leave all that geological techy stuff to the scientists and let's just enjoy the beauty.
Now, a slide show, the drive from Wilson's Window to the entrance of Canyonlands National Park. By the way, the drive from Moab to the Needles District of Canyonlands is about 70 miles, give or take. That does not get you in and around the park. We drive well in excess of 150 miles this day, a long day, one of many long day trips we will make to visit other national parks over the next month or so. We end these days exhausted, overwhelmed, awed and regretful that we do not have many more hours, days, or even weeks to explore these beautiful areas of the U.S.A., and totally overjoyed that we had the opportunity to see what we did.
The majority of these photos were taken from Big Butt while riding into the park. The story here, is again, the size, the colors, the textures. Always the size, the colors, the textures (ohhh, I said that, didn't I??). Stunning, breathtaking, and no two formations alike!!
Soon, I will share with you our visit to Canyonlands National Park, the Needles District, more gorgeous scenery, more photos.
