THE Trip, And, We Are Off

Copyright 2010, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

At long last, after days of frenzied packing, we winterized the stick built, loaded up the dogs, the electronics, the plants and we were OFF!

We expect "things" to happen, events to thrill, sometimes the thrills are not the fun kind, but, they come with the territory, and on take off day, one of those "things" happened as we crossed the county line. We were barely 20 miles from the stick when a pickup truck passed us (in a no passing zone and on take off from a stop light) and almost caused a head on accident which would have involved a bunch of vehicles, it would have been ugly! Pickup truck almost took the front end of Big Butt off, as it scooted back in our travel lane. You can imagine, Man was not happy, but his blood pressure was UP! GRRR

And, before we had gone too many more miles, YES, it happened again, only this event was not nearly as close a call as the first one.

Since then we are having techy challenges, Smart phone is having issues with the charger, ditto the plug for the Baby HP in the truck. The GPS on the Baby HP stopped accessing the satellites yesterday, have no idea why. Blogger is having issues loading photos, so, I am working in the "old" version of the editor.

Big Butt may have a radiator issue, Man called our dealer, the fix might be expensive.

This is life on the road, this is NOT a vacation, you will have issues daily, just like everyone else. Life in stick built, life in a RV, does not matter much, cause life is and has issues, and you deal with them, visit the Sprint store, take Big Butt to the dealer/fixer upper, pay out the $$ and move on in life and down the road.

The other, rather irritating, issue I am having is trying to figure out how to take photos at 60 MPH. See:

* Ahhh, but that out of focus photo is my proof, we are past the Michigan border and heading south and west.  Wahhhooo!

All the best on your journey Carol. I hope you don't have to deal with any more idiot drivers.

May the luck of the Irish
Lead to happiest heights
And the highway you travel
Be lined with green lights.

Cheers! Jennifer

Aggh, we seem to encounter some of that same type of ... jerk ... when we travel, too. Have a safe trip, write about it when you can. Yeah, I'm also photo-challenged on the road. Why can't we just stop so I can take a picture? (whine)

You do pretty good at 60mph!

Also, if you come to Phoenix, remember, it's winter down here and there are lots of, hmmm, interesting drivers at this time of hear. They usually have gray hair, out of state plates and love to make right hand turns from the far left hand lane, across several lanes of traffic. They do the opposite from the far right hand lanes too. Just be careful out there!
