Onward. We are on the road by 11:00. Or. Maybe that was 10:00. We are flipping back and forth in time zones.

Anyway, we are headed to Skagway. For sure. Now, THIS is a stunning ride scenery wise.  It helps to have sun and clear skies.  There is still some haze, maybe some smoke,  it we can SEE!!!

Bove Island.

The fireweed is done blooming - -

Lakes and interesting landscape. The drive to Skagway is one of the prettiest we have been on.

The Estate posed for a pretty photo:

Tormented Valley is pretty much at the top. Then as you head down, the formations change so dramatically, and so quickly, like in about 1 mile, ok, maybe 2.. No photos of that part, maybe Man will drive out and I can try to get photos.

About 5 miles from the border inspection station I take over driving. It’s all downhill. And steep!  Good grief!

Agent at the border was so personable and light hearted.  When he walked to the back to The Estate to get our license number he said he needed steps, he and his wife have a friendly competition going. He asked if we had anything we had purchased in Canada, nope, just food. Asked if we had anything we were going to sell in Skagway, nope. Anyway, he let us in!

We snagged the last, and I do mean, LAST campsite in this campground. Only because The Estate is so small.  On the way to the campground we fueled up and grabbed a few things at the local IGA and local hardware store (which was in the historic part of town).

The Estate has it's own view of a glacier.

Parked we gave Sir W a walk, and then headed to the docks area for a look around and a meal. The Alaskan White was yummy, as was Man’s halibut.

The ceiling decorations in the restaurant.  Yes, I even will take a photo of a ceiling.

Back home, we both crashed for several hours.  It is windy. There were 3 cruise ships here today, one was a Disney ship, played such a cute tune as it left.

We drove 68 miles today.
