Headed to Hoodsport Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula: The Estate Takes on Alaska

Wake to a serene view.

It’s gonna be in the 80’s today?

We are off to finish The Trip The Encore’ trip from 2013 when the landing leg broke on Tana and we went to Portland. It was wonderful and now we do the other part.

Pull out 65 degrees and 10:30ish.

Traffic is horrendous, and frankly, a shock to our systems after hundreds of miles and barely seeing a vehicle.

At Sumner we stop and look up the Cummings generator service place.  We have to make an appointment, for a week from now.  Lemonade, a nice time to bum around the Olympic Peninsula.  Second glass of lemonade, they have a 3 site campground/parking area we can use for free the night before.  With water and electric.

We saw a BBQ place on the drive through the industrial park where the service center is, it took a bit of hysteria on my part, finding it again, but we prevailed.

The traffic is awful, solid, heavy, backed up, ALL DAY LONG!  Ohhh I may have mentioned that.

We did do a bit of a detour to Union, it was very pretty there. And quiet.

Back on the 101, there are lots of curves, and driving along the waterways, or through sections with huge trees which overhang the highway.

We ended up the day in Hoodsport, Washington.   Clean campground, nicely kept, where I had the worst time seeing in my right side view mirror while backing into our campsite, resulting in finishing off my nerves for the day.

We had adult beverage hour and walked over to the private dock area. Sat there for a while. Cause. And it was nice.

We drove 135 miles today.

There was a full moon (or almost, I cannot remember)  As I was closing up The Estate for the evening I spied it over the motel/office and a pine tree.  It was a great view, that did not translate well to Sony III.  So, here is a photo of just the moon, instead.
