It Was a Water, Critters and Sign Post Kinda Day: The Estate Takes on Alaska

A day or so either side of today, 60th parallel. There was a sign, I did not get a photo, so cannot be sure which day it was, oopsie.

Pulled out about 10. Fueled up. Day started out with some heavy clouds - -

This is what we do to bugs that argue with the windshield of The Estate - -

Porcupine sighting. Missed photo. Dang.

The water elements, all different, all gorgeous --

I do love me some mountains - -

And, how bout mountains and water?

Muncho Lake, 7 miles long. And, quite photographic, even saw a sea plane, said photo was a fail however.  LOL

And, the pink flowers - - along all the roads, profuse, two kinds.  No idea what the first one is.

The fireweed is blooming, the locals say they know when the snows are coming from watching the bloom on this plant - -

Sheep, stone sheep. And, there be baby stone sheep - -

And, more bridges, I so love - -

Buffalo. One. No, make that a wood bison.

Bear, one, black, maybe grizzly?  Another black bear.

Lunch by river. Coal river? Pulled in and there was a truck and a 5er getting towed out. Their truck broke down.  The tow set up was different to us. Felt real sorry for this family.

And. We finally discovered the “ding” where that stone hit us the other day 20 minutes after the windshield repair. We were thankful that it did not hit the window as there is no doubt it would have shattered the windshield. It was epic loud. Now we realize we were also very lucky it did not take out the radiator as the stone/rock hit the very edge of the hood and left a significant dent, and of course chipped the paint. But, that ding!  Wow!  Counting lucky stars and stones today.

Bison, wood bison. Several.

We stop at "view points", this was a good stop  - -

Wild roses - -

Interesting guys found on the edge of a picnic table - -

More black bears. Here is one - - -

Watson Lake, unique parking. 30 minutes of useless  WiFi per person per day.

Dinner out at Kathy’s. Walked down to the Sign Post Forest.

A birthday sister will get a kick out of this sign - -

This morning it was 50ish.  Dank.  At 6:30 PM it is 78 and dry(er).

207 miles today.

11PM and I can still see cross the parking lot.
