A Reward for Reflections

Copyright 2010, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

It was a rainy day, I sat at the computer all day, deleting email, cleaning up files, scanning memorial cards, trying to learn Legacy and Evernote, discovering tidbits about a line in ole Virginy, making a neat word processing file about those tidbits including some maps.

Finally late afternoon the rain ceased, and I stayed right here at the computer working away.  Time for the fur kids dinner, I fed them, and Man took one of them outside for a potty stop. He gave me one of those, "grab that camera" hollars, I grabbed, rang outside, and was rewarded with this glory.  My reward for a long day of work at the computer, thank you Mother Nature:

* And, I hope this makes some sense, cause, I am tired, but, it was too pretty not to share, NOW!

** And, now, rest well friends and family, Carol is going to zzzzzzzzzzz land.

Another lovely sunset you've captured over the years. I appreciate seeing them because I rarely get to see any here. Same goes for sunrises, so please get some of those too!

It was beautiful, but, the aftermath is still with us. W**I**N**D**Y

Woke us around 2 or 3 AM, both of us. Took the power out for about 15 seconds (just enough to require resetting of clocks this AM) and set off the alarm that someone (mm, Man) has installed on his new Dish toy. Alarm is fairly sensitive and motion sets it off.

Oh, and, Barbara, sunrises, HAHAHA, ROTFLOL, probably NOT going to happen. Sunrises are for sleeping through.

That is beautiful! And I want to hear more about this neat word file. I keep my genealogy finds all over the place, and have never tried to save a map.

Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing! That was as gorgeous as a Kansas sunset, and we have some beautiful ones here on the prairie!

You and Becky Wiseman must have been on the same wavelength today! Gorgeous!

Basically Marti, I did a copy/paste into a Word Perfect file of a cemetery record I found online. I included the URL, the group that put the record online, and all the wonderful descriptive info including a detailed description as to WHERE the cemetery was.

Later I was able to discover a map that showed the cemetery (via Google Maps) and did a screen capture, pasting that into the Word Perfect document as well.

This entire document was saved to my data base as a multimedia event attached to the place (the name of the cemetery).

Thanks for asking.

Yes, Sherry, you do. Add a few clouds and a few miles of viewing and the sunsets are so wonderful.

Greta, Becky always has beautiful sunsets, and I enjoy every one of them.

Gorgeous! Yeah, I'm a little behind in reading blogs. LOL. I've used Legacy almost since it began, so I've learned as it evolved. Not as hard as trying to learn it all at once. If you need any help, just holler. :-) The training videos are good and try to catch the webinars that Geoff does every now and then on adding information like death certificates, etc. Really helpful to a newbie.

Thanks Debbie and the sunset and on the offer to help me learn Legacy. It is really appreciated.
