Woke to news that Dorian projected route has moved east, we pray for those still being threatened and hope it moves lots more east and fizzles.

Also woke to temps outside of 67 and bright sun, temp inside at 9 AM of 78ish, on goes the air.  Forecast for today for our goal is 95?  YIKES.

On the road at 10:36.

They grow hay around here. They water.

Look at the size of that hay stack.  We saw thousands of bales.

A lone tree - - -

As always, the geological formations, impress me.

Snow fence is quite common. Miles and miles.

10,000 miles this trip.

New time zone, Mountain now. About noon Pacific.  Now 1 pm.

Spectacular scenery.

Yes, there is water here, look at it!  Willow trees!  Hay in the distance.

Water IS a giver of life.  We traveled along rivers for long distances.  One was named Malhuer.  Others I am still working on identifying.  I could tell where the water was, it was green immediately around it, but, within just feet of the banks, the brown, dryness took over.

A crown of stone and rocks - - and a bridge - -

That is one tall mountain, looming over the roadway and the waterway - -

If you look closely, in this photo you will see a daisy/sunflower type plant blooming and smiling at us.  They greeted us for much of this trip, lone plants or large groups.

Outcroppings of what I think is volcanic remains, striking, sharp, sudden, surprising.

This outcropping, different shapes.  Of course.

Colors too, giving definitions.

Stopped in. Vale, Oregon for fuel and lunch. Vale is in an agricultural valley. Corn, yellow onions, several other crops I don’t recognize, but I suspect are potatoes.  Also a small solar farm. Just saw a sign. Onion country USA.

Corn was looking really good.  It is, as are all crops here, watered.

This is a truck full of onions, yellow, I think.  I had to edit this one a bit, as just as I snapped the photo, the dust the truck kicked up caught up with him and smothered him,  LOL

Saw an Ore Ida processing plant.

Arrived campsite about 3. 150 miles today.  97 degrees on arrival.
