Rained all night. Up about 6:30. Still raining.
Sooo, we have another leak. Now for ya all start on me here’s some statements
1 we expected trouble like this. We did not purchase for 5 years, cause frankly, the build relability for the last 10 years has dropped industry wide, and it was never the best
2 we practice the “be handy with your money and handy with your hands” in this sport. ALWAYS.
3 we think we have discovered source, even with some hand tightening by Man (who was lying on the floor, all scrunched up, stretching as far as he could) the leak is still there.
4 we will deal by keeping the pump off cept when we need water. And releasing the pressure by opening the faucets when we turn the pump off.
5 we are reluctant to either turn back and cancel a trip that has been over 2 years in the planning and/or reluctant to try to have some one TRY to fix and maybe messing it up so much that we will have no water.
Onward. Punt. Handy with hands/money.
On the road by 9ish. Quick stop at the Prince of Wales hotel for photo op. Hotel opened July 1927.
The help is well dressed - -
The view is stunning, no?? Yes, it would be better if it had been clear and skies of blue - - but, ya get what ya get.
AS we leave the park we notice the mountain tops covered by “termination dust”, aka light snow.
Once we leave the park, rolling, green farm land. Cattle. And a lot of snow fence - -
Pincher Creek, fuel, and supply stop. Don't you just love their city welcome signs?
Continue up 22. We had contemplated a mountain drive as a detour to the detour. The road, 40, opened June 15th. Now considering the non -stop rain, which would most likely be snow up there, we did a pass on that idea. 22 was a great ride, green rolling hills, very little traffic. It would have been stunning with some sun to lighten our way instead of the rain, mist and rain and mist and rain - sigh.
And, a wind farm - -
We pulled over at Black Diamond and took a long break (translates to possible nap). It was still pouring.
Since we have no telie and very little internet we have no idea of future weather. I’m glad for my thermies and hoodies.
And. Just saw a sign that says winter driving conditions on 93, which goes thru Banff. Loootttt ooooo. Stay tuned.
Stopped to fuel up, Tim Horton’s. They always have WiFi. Nope. Not this one.
We get to the campground and it is sorta sunny, no wind and no raining. 67 degrees. And snow on all the surrounding mountains. And WiFi that fails! Views are good tho - -
224 miles today in really snarky weather. We are ready for something different than rain and wind. This much isn't so good for the soul. Or our moods.
