The Wonderful World of Disney, Part 2:: Rolling, Rolling, Keep Them Wheels a Rolling - Winter 2015-2016

After viewing the presentation of the Lion King, Rich, Helen, Man and I wandered over to the Kilimanjaro Safari. They take you on a ride in an open-air vehicle through a lush African savanna habitat of about 110 acres.

The "jeep" takes you among the animals, and must stop for wandering giraffes.  The driver is your tour guide sharing information about the different creatures.  Stops are short, so I was shooting for the most part while rolling.  Here are a few photos.

Hippo. We even saw a few swimming in pools.  This one was more interested in lunch.

Pelicans (I think)

Just strolling down the road:

Believe there are 4 giraffes here, guide said 3 were youngsters:

Look at those horns.  Glad they were way over there and I was not!

Elephants, there were several, including at least one small one.

Flamingos that I have seen before were much more pink.  It is said they get their pink coloration from eating shrimp.  These are looking a bit peaked, but, I did see a photo that someone else took, where at least one flamingo had it's wings spread and there was a lot of pink coloration in that photo.

Cheetahs taking a rest in the shade:

Looking down at us, we can only imagine her thoughts:

The King of the Jungle and his current mistress - -

Later in the evening, we will take in a taste of Epcot, along with some fireworks.
