Windy Road to Ogallala Nebraska: The Estate Takes On Alaska

Copyright 2019, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

September 6, 2019

Pulled out at 9:45, 68 degrees and slightly overcast.

Cross winds. About 20 MPH.  Bouncing ride.

Have no idea why, but, isn't he cute?  He was on a hilltop near an exit.

Oil or propane.

Spied what looked like llamas out grazing with some cattle.

I loved how they cut the roadway around this "butte" (or whatever the name of the geological formation is) - -

Sunflowers as crop, looked immature still.

We hit 11,000 miles for this trip, we did not realize it for 5.5 miles.  LOL

Oil well or propane? and in the distance a windmill farm, second wind mill farm spotted today.

Cattle - - cause  - -

There were 3 crosses on top of this - - you can just barely see them in this photo.

Lunch stop Sidney Nebraska, cross the street (sorta) from Cabbalas (Sidney is "home" to Cabbalas).  There is a Loves with an Express IHOP. We both had breakfast it was good and rather quick.

We see these gates and warnings all along I-80.  Winter driving can be hazardous, eh?

Stopped at Ogallala Nebraska for the night, a shorter drive for us, only 170 miles. What with the “breeze” hitting us broadside, we were pleased to pull off the road about 2:15. I think at least 8 other rigs, maybe more, have pulled in since we arrived. There is a Boot Hill cemetery here. Not sure we will stop by tho. Well, not tonight.  (And, we did not stop in the morning either.)
