After lunch at Murrells Inlet, South Carolina we drove down the coast a bit more to Pawleys Island. Shabby chic and shopping were boasted about in the travel brochures. Shabby chic in the houses along the beach, yes. Shopping was along 17 and most was repeat of what you see in so many places. So, we did chic and passed on the shopping.
There were many of these long, very long, docks, some having little "gazebos" at the end. Only saw a few boats in the water tho.
We followed the road to the end, this couple found a little secluded place to fish and share some conversation.
I can never refuse taking a photo of sand and fences.
Man and I spied these birds, and we just cracked up. We are easily amused. (By the way, if you are interested, this house is for sale, it's name is "Last Resort". And, yes, it is the last house on the road.)
This day ended with a lovely sunset back at our campsite.
We enjoyed our two nights in the area, off season. No crowds. Some stores and such were closed, did not matter to us. If we ever get back, I want to make a couple of stops in the Litchfield area. Something to do with a old small cemetery sitting along 17 and what appeared to be buildings from an old plantation or something.
Next we head to James Island, Charleston area. Another 2 nights, with a surprise or two and a lot of memories.
