We had just one full day to experience the area around Myrtle Beach. We made good use of our time.
The first stop of the day was Murrells Inlet, Seafood Capital of South Carolina. Those of you that know Man fully understand why this was first on the to do list. He told me it was the Marshwalk. Shall we all laugh hysterically??
We did in fact take in most of the Marshwalk, which had some nice flower boxes still in bloom.
Man and a friend:
Doesn't this just scream summer??
The Marsh:
More Marsh. And a few goats, on an island. They stay during the warm weather only. About the end of November, they are "herded" and gathered and removed to the farm where it is warmer. Seems this "herding" event tends to be just a bit humorous, and many gather to observe adult men chasing goats.
They are fed cat food and all the left overs from the salad bars at the Drunken Jack's Restaurant & Lounge. The restaurant owner just happens to own the island and the goats and the farm.
Our luncheon view:
Seems the local Corvette club was having lunch too:
After lunch we went out on the long pier and visited a few of the natives:
Next, a drive over to Pawleys Island.
