     M. Catchpool Fatally Hurt Grinding Sickle
DUMONT - - Maurice Catchpool of Clarksville died Monday morning at the Lutheran hospital at Hampton where he was taken Saturday evening following a peculiar accident at the Howard Pfaltzgraff farm home.
He was assisting sharpening a sickle when the emery stone, which was run by an electric motor, exploded, fragments of which struck him in the abdomen.  He also received a broken jaw.
Darwin Pfaltzgraff also was struck and injured on the left leg by fragments.  He was reported better Monday.
Mr. Catchpool was a cousin of Howard Pfaltzgraff and had assisted many farmers in that neighborhood with their farm work."

DUMONT - - Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Community church at Clarksville for Maurice Garnish Catchpool, with the Rev. W. D. Winter, pastor of the Salem Evangelical church of Dumont, in charge.
He was born July 5, 1905, on a farm at Norton's Corners, five miles southwest of Shell Rock.  At the age of seven years he moved with his parents to Shell Rock, when his father was forced to retire from farming because of a spinal injury received in a haying accident.
Here he received his schooling and was graduated from high school in the class of 1923.  Following his graduation he engaged in farming with his brother, Herbert Catchpool, and for seven years near New Hartford where they made their home with their parents until 1938.  Since then he had done farm work on farms near Dumont.
Last Saturday evening he received internal injuries in a farm accident and he was taken to the Hampton hospital where he died Monday morning.  He leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry I. Catchpool of Clarksville; two brothers, Roger H. Catchpool, of Shell Rock; Herbert L. Catchbook, of Clarksville, and one sister, Mrs. Edwin V. Wilkinson of Clarksville."

*** Links, URL's, for the most part will not be included henceforth on my posts, as so many of them change and then I have to come back and try to re-discover and relink.  Frankly folks, I have no desire to spend my limited time here on this side of the sod with those kinds of do overs.  As researchers, or just members of the internet community, sites such as Find A Grave are easy to find, some are free to use and with the information I am sharing with you, hopefully, you can duplicate the research/findings. That said, I have seen memorials at Find A Grave be removed.  If you have questions, I suggest you leave a nice comment for me. OR find the method I have outlined on my blog for contacting me.
