A Different Kind of Tombstone Tuesday

Copyright 2010, CABS for Reflections From the Fence

This week I was asked to do an interview fo the local paper talking about our cemetery project. I was even persuaded to pose for a photo.

I will readily and quickly agree to do a newspaper or radio interview in a heartbeat, if you let me chat about the Lenawee County Family Researchers.  Ask me about the cemetery project, and I will gladly chat away till you cannot stand listening to it any longer.

The article appeared in the Monday, October 11, 2010 issue of the Adrian Daily Telegram, published in Adrian, Lenawee County, Michigan.  I have no idea how long the link will be good, so I apologize in advance if it is non-functional.

For those that asked, the cemetery books, and other offerings from the club are here, Volume 8 is waiting to be delivered to the printer for a proof copy to be printed.  It will cover Blissfield Township.

And, since I am sharing Lenawee links, here is the Lenawee County GENWEB page, started and maintained for a number of years by Diane and Chuck (yea, one of the Wild Ones), and now maintained by Mary Teeter.  And, here is a blog that contains almost 120 sets of records for Lenawee County Bibles and Bible Records.  There are more records to be added to this blog, time permitting (ya, my time.)  Lenawee County has a great Historical Society and several of our libraries have terrific historical rooms packed to the rafters with great resources.

Lenawee is rich in history, and has been blessed to have a large number of historians and writers record the same in any number of books.  The Lenawee County Family Researchers are pleased to particpate by recording cemetery records and publishing them for researchers far and wide to use.

**January 2014, many of the links have changed.  I have removed them.

Nice article, Carol. It's great that the newspaper could publicize the cemetery project. So often those things go unnoticed in a community.

Absolutely awesome - what a tremendous accomplishment. And it's good for these things to be publicized, both to alert people to the existence of the resources and to inspire others to make contributions of this type.

Congrats on a wonderful article! Thanks also for the Lenawee resources. I have a couple of Lenawee ancestors.

Very nice article Carol! It sounds like this will truly be an ongoing project for quite a while. It'll keep you hopping for years to come! LOL.
